Meet Miss Bee

I’m a music educator, recording artist, children’s book author, and the heart behind Explorers Playgroup. For more than a decade, I’ve had the joy of creating spaces where children can learn, grow, move, sing, and simply be themselves. I believe children learn best through play, creativity, and connection, and I bring that belief into every music experience I create.

My love for music runs deep. I’m the granddaughter of acclaimed jazz musician and multi-instrumentalist Lloyd Mason, and I had the privilege of studying under composer and organist Dr. Carl Maultsby. Growing up surrounded by music, it shaped the way I see the world, and sharing that gift with children has become one of the most meaningful parts of my life.

Before creating Explorers Playgroup, I owned and operated two successful preschools in New York, where I discovered just how powerful music can be in the early years. Today, in addition to leading Explorers Playgroup, I’m the music teacher at The Cooper School in Upper Montclair, NJ, where I get to share my love of music with children every day. Whether we’re singing a silly song, dancing across the room, exploring a new rhythm, or making up music together, my goal is always the same: to create moments of joy, creativity, and connection.

I believe music gives children a beautiful way to find their voice, connect with others, and discover the joy of being exactly who they are. And if I can help make those early years a little more joyful, musical, and magical, then I’m exactly where I’m meant to be.
